Emily & Dyllan's Duxbury Elopement

This wedding season (well, I guess I can finally say this past wedding season) in Vermont was one full of small and intimate elopements, and it was so amazing and spectacular.

Emily & Dyllan's elopement at Moose Meadow Lodge in Duxbury was no exception. I pulled up to Moose Meadow on the most gorgeous and mild September afternoon and was immediately greeted by Greg (one of the Inn Keepers), with a huge smile and a welcome-back-hello! Part of what is so special about being in this industry is the relationships you form with other vendors, and Moose Meadow Lodge is one of my favorite places to shoot. If you are unfamiliar with it, give it a look. A beautiful wooden lodge in the hills of Duxbury, a perfect place for a getaway or an intimate Vermont elopement! It truly is one of those hidden gems of a venue.

I met up with Emily & Dyllan who were both getting ready in the lovely rustic room. This is also one of my favorite parts of elopements; I love watch couples get ready together. I can't really put my finger on what it is, but its so very special. Like they are 100% totally in on this secret of eloping together and are with each other every step of the way. As soon as I met these two, I felt like we were old friends. Emily and Dyllan are crazy into music (like, both met in the Army band crazy for music), and both are so relaxed in their own bodies and with each other. I felt immediately at east and trusted and was ready to capture their story playing out before me. I cant stress enough about how elopements make me feel so relaxed and at ease. I love a good rush of adrenaline during a large wedding with timelines and specific moments to capture, but there is something so different about capturing an elopement. It's more relaxed and slow paced, and I feel like my job becomes a little more focused and intentional in a way different from a large wedding affair.

Greg preformed a beautiful ceremony under the tree in front of the stream fed trout pond, while Emily and Dyllan live-streamed the wedding for friends and family to see. They shared the most beautiful vows with one another, before officially becomes husband and wife! Ahhh, it gets me every time!

After the ceremony, we had some time for some fun and formal portraits. And there really is not bad place for portraits at Moose Meadow! Emily and Dyllan were so relaxed and down to earth, open for anything, all the while their love for each other just radiating off the two of them! Although this was the first time I met these two, I hope it's not the last time we work together! So here they are, the story of Emily & Dyllan's Vermont Elopement!
